"Nicholas Un-Caged"

Films: Primal (2019)

Alias: The Ghost Cat

Type: Natural

Location: Jungle/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average jaguar.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: You don't see jaguars and leopards get much representation in movies, now do you? Maybe it's because they're not as majestic as the lion or as powerful as the tiger. They're just sort of in-between. But never forget that the jaguar is the apex predator in South America for a reason...

History: Deep in the jungles of Brazil, legend speaks of the Phantasm, a powerful albino jaguar that the people sacrificed their own to in order to keep it satisfied. Recently though, its reign of terror has come to an end. For big game hunter Frank Walsh has managed to capture it and put it on a ship on a course to the highest bidder. But the ship he and the beast are on also happens to be a prison ship for a complete psycho...who's also broken loose. Even worse, he's released all the animals, Phantasm included. Now, Frank finds himself hunting both man and beast, as they hunt him.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After much carnage, the Phantasm is released by Frank to finish off the villain. Frank then had the cat sent to a ranch in Kenya to live the rest of its days in peace.

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-A powerful cat it may be, the Phantasm is still held back by slightly finicky CGI and the fact that many of the escaped animals surrounding it do more work than it does. Then again, the beast slaughters any that get in its way, so maybe there's a reason for that. Despite that, it is not some evil spirit. It's just a big cat doing what comes naturally.

Trivia: -The jaguar is the third largest big cat, and it has secured a very high position on the food chain of the Americas. However, it is actually quite timid around humans, and will often run away as fast as it can upon seeing any, only ever attacking in self-defense. In fact, jaguars are considered to be the least likely to become maneaters out of all the big cats. However, chances of an attack happening are increasing the more humans encroach on their habitat.

-During the Pleistocene Epoch, a larger species of jaguar existed in Europe. How it went extinct is anybody's guess.
